The Equality Act 2010

This 1-day course can be delivered in-house for your organisation or developed into a package for you to deliver yourselves. The course could be tailored to meet specific requirements of your sector but could include:

  • Ensuring that participants are familiar with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 in relation to:
    • The new approach to “Protected Characteristics” and the aspects which have changed;
    • Changes and extension to all the definitions of discrimination;
    • The new provisions relating to disability and Pre-employment Questionnaires;
    • The opportunities for positive action and other exceptions;
    • The provision relating to employment and third party harassment;
    • The public sector equality duty: general and specific.
  • Identifying the actions that need to be taken in order to ensure compliance with the legislation.
